The political forum of Hadhramout University students launched a political debate program in Bakathir hall at University Presidency. Under the patronage of Prof. Muhammad Saeed Khanbash; President of Hadhramout University.
The program targeted 30 male and female trainee from Hadhramout University students at different scientific specializations. It aimed to train the students on the principles and basics of debating. It also includes a number of training courses and debating sessions between students and it lasts for three weeks.
During the launch, Dr. Salem Bin Salman; Acting Vice President for Students Affairs confirmed that holding such these debates for the first time at the university occurred within the efforts made by the university leadership to enhance the students skills in exchanging ideas, good dialogue and respecting other’s opinions. In addition to qualifying them to represent the university in the Universities Arabic and international Debating Championships.
Furthermore, it was held within the forum’s objectives to qualify the students to be capable of debating and expressing their opinions in a way that build peace between different society classes.
The participants got acquainted with the basics of debating and mechanism of the international debating championships. It was presented by Ms. Reem Al Rahwa; project officer. In addition to the course of logical fallacies in debating which was presented by the Ms. Khalisa Al-Mamary; trainer from Oman. It was conducted via zoom.
