Within the university's continuous scientific activities and events, and to achieve its mission and objectives in developing the academic quality system, and raising the local and international scientific research and publication level, the activities of (Scientific Research Week) at Hadhramout University will start on Sunday tomorrow morning, the fourth of July 2021. In continuation with the implementation of the training course of the program; (Developing the Quality System in Yemeni Universities, According to Modern International Academic Practices). It was inaugurated at the university on Sunday 27/6/2021, and will conclude on Monday 5/7/2021.
These activities will begin with the inauguration of the International Conference on Advanced Technology and Engineering by His Excellency Dr. Khalid Ahmed Al-Wasabi; Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training. It was organized by Hadhramout University and the research group of Yemeni scientists. Moreover, it was technically sponsored by the Engineers of the Electronics and Electrical Branch institute in Yemen (IEEE). In cooperation with eight international universities, from the United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Morocco, Tunisia and Libya, and in the presence of His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Adel Mohammed Bahmaid; Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen in Malaysia Kingdom via Internet.
In a press statement of Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; HU President, he explained that the university has given a great importance to the scientific research , in accordance with existing circumstances and available possibilities. So, scientific publications were regularly published in its scientific journals and a number of scientific conferences, local, regional and international were held in it.
This International Conference on Advanced Technology and Engineering (ICOTEN 2021), which will inaugurated tomorrow under the patronage of His Excellency; the Minister, is part of the scientific research interests at Hadhramout University , and the development of its mechanisms. This conference is also considered as the largest scientific event in Yemen, and it includes six international conferences specialized in recent developments in the following fields: (smart computing and informatics, electrical and electronic engineering, biological and medical engineering, environmental engineering, applied sciences, and educational and management technologies).
Researchers from thirty five countries, from Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia and the United States of America, in addition to researchers from Yemeni universities, participate in this conference, via zoom technology on Internet. In addition, 195 research papers were submitted in this conference, in its six fields however, 142 of them passed the arbitration stage with an acceptance rate of 72%, and they have been added to the conference book, and will be listed in (IEEE XPLORE – SCOPUS INDEXED), to find its way in the platforms and various scientific research groups, locally, regionally and internationally.
the president of the university also indicated in his statement that the (Scientific Research Week at Hadhramout University) also includes holding the (Sixth Scientific Conference for Student Research), during the period from the sixth to the eighth of July 2021. These scientific conferences for students are another achievement that distinguishes Hadhramout University from among all Yemeni universities. In recent years, the university has held five scientific conferences for students' research and scientific projects. These scientific conferences aim to raise the scientific level of university students, enhance their culture of scientific research, creativity and innovation, and direct their scientific efforts towards contributing to the society service and solving its problems.
In conclusion of his statement, the University President expressed his sincere thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training, Prof. Khalid Ahmed Al-Wasabi; For sponsoring the various activities of the university: academic, research, development and training, and for His Excellency the Ambassador, Dr. Adel Mohammed Bahmaid, for his support and participation in the International Conference on Advanced Technology and Engineering inauguration. He also thanked all the parties that contributed in the activities of this scientific week and its conferences: (the research group of Yemeni scientists, and its chairman; Dr. Faisal Al-Samit, the Branch of the Electronics and Electrical Engineers institute in Yemen (IEEE); the technical sponsor of the conference, the postgraduate Studies deputyship and Scientific Research at the university, the Students Affairs at the university. In addition to the office of the Communications and Information Technology Ministry in the governorate, the organizing committees of the International Conference on Advanced Technology and Engineering (ICOTEN 2021) and the organization of the Scientific Conference for Student Research, the University’s Information Technology Center, the General Administration of Scientific Research at the university. Moreover, he thanked the General Administration of Investment at the University, and the General Administration of Services and Facilities at the University.
