Hadhramout Governor Inaugurates the 5th Scientific Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences at Hadhramout University

The 5th Scientific Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences, held in Ali Ahmed Bakatheer Hall at HU Presidency under the patronage of Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, opened with verses from the Holy Quran.

Governor Mabkhot Mubarak Bin Madi conveyed greetings and congratulations to His Excellency Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, on the occasion of the university’s 30th anniversary celebrations. He praised Hadhramout University for its achievements and contributions to the development of generations and for fulfilling its scientific and academic mission. He also highlighted the diverse activities and scientific conferences held during the Scientific Research Week at Hadhramout University, which promote sustainable development.

Prof. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, President of Hadhramout University, pointed out the university’s comprehensive program to celebrate its 30th anniversary, which includes 30 events in quality, academic accreditation, student affairs, scientific research, and community service. He emphasized that these events aim to convey three messages that Hadhramout University has remained a shining beacon of knowledge, research, and community service over the past 30 years. It has also reached a high level of maturity in all academic fields. Furthermore, the university is in its fourth decade with more success, determination, and optimism for the future, despite the difficult circumstances and challenges faced by the country and the current crisis. He expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the establishment of this academic institution and those who contributed to the success of the thirtieth-anniversary celebrations of Hadhramout University.

Prof. Saleh Basraih, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Fifth Scientific Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences at the University, stated that the conference was held under the slogan “Current Trends in Humanities and Social Sciences for Community Service.” This is in line with the university’s policy to develop scientific research and its keenness for the continuity and regularity of scientific conferences in various fields of science.

He mentioned that since the announcement of the conference, more than a hundred researches submitted to the scientific committee for participation in the conference in various fields of humanities and social sciences. The committee received about seventy-seven research papers, reviewed by specialized professors who provided their remarks. The researchers then made the necessary amendments. He confirmed that seventy-one research papers were accepted in the Fifth Conference, including twenty-five from Hadhramout University. The remaining research papers were among the universities of Aden, Seiyun, Al-Wasatiya Al-Sharia, Al-Mahra, Saba, Hajjah, Ibb, the Higher Training and Qualification Institute in Sana’a, and Al-Qassim University in Saudi Arabia.

The conference discusses several topics and papers in humanities and social sciences, presented by the specialized professors over two days.

The opening session was attended by Prof. Abdullah Saleh Babair, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obathani, Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, Prof. Hadi Salem Al-Saban, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, deans and Deputies of the Hadhramout faculties and private universities, members of Hadhramout University and several directors of executive offices and government institutions.
