Prof. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, President of Hadhramout University, expressed his high appreciation for the success of the 9th Student Scientific Conference through the examination of the scientific research, which showed the ability of university students to speak and present and the importance of the research that focused on many life topics that touch our reality in Hadhramout as well as the nation and the Arab world. The research of the Engineering and Information Systems Group included programs such as Green hydrogen, platforms that benefit people with special needs, and others.
The conclusion of the 9th Scientific Conference for Students was held at Ali Ahmed Bakatheer Hall at HU Presidency under the slogan “University Students in the Service of the Community. In the attendance of Prof. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, President of the University, Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obathani, Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, Prof. Salem Mohammed bin Salman, Assistant Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, Prof. Salem Bafaqir, President of Al-Rayyan University, Mr. Ahmed Zain Bahmaid, General Director of the University’s General Administration of Media, and several specialists.
The conference sessions began with a scientific session on Sunday, 5/5/2024, chaired by Prof. Salem Rabia Bazaar and with the membership of Prof. Kamal Baoum and Dr. Jaafar Omar Baamer. It discussed ten research papers in the axis of natural and applied sciences (science and environment group).
The second session was chaired by Dr. Omar Abdullah Bamqaa, with Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Hassan as a member, and examined five research papers in the group (medicine and health sciences).
On its second day, the conference held two separate sessions for the axis of humanities and social sciences, the first on the group (literature and education), chaired by Prof. Fathia Mohammed Bahishwan, and with the membership of Dr. Mohammed Abu Bakr Muqaibel and Mr. Ahmed Zain Bahmaid. It examined eleven research papers.
The second session examined (the literature group) seven research papers, chaired by Prof. Hussein Alawi Al-Habshi and with the membership of Dr. Hassan Sheikh Al-Kaf and Mr. Abdullah Amer Al-Kathiri.
The conference concluded its work on Tuesday morning by holding two sessions on the axis of natural and applied sciences (Computer Engineering and Information Technology Group). The session was chaired by Dr. Rasha Abdul Aziz bin Thalab and with the membership of Dr. Mazen Abdullah Bahishwan. It examined five research papers, while the last session (Engineering Research Group and Administrative Sciences Research Group) will be in a session chaired by Dr. Salem Obaid Barameh and with the membership of Dr. Mohsen Al-Jafari and Dr. Hassan Omar bin Ghanem. It will examine four research papers in engineering sciences and two research papers in Administrative sciences.
The head of the conference’s scientific committee, Prof. Khaled Awadh Al-Rubaki, described the conference’s work as distinguishing Hadhramout University from other Yemeni universities. Forty-six scientific research papers were examined at the conference in various fields, during which university students presented their research and graduation projects that will serve the community. He pointed out that the conference aims to develop a culture of scientific research among male and female students and to provide an opportunity for external participation in international forums. He thanked the university presidency for its efforts in supporting these student activities and events.
