The Chess and Table Tennis Championships concluded this morning in Dr. Ali Hood Baabad Hall at the university’s headquarters. These championships were part of the individual sports competitions among several private and public universities in Hadhramout, held within the activities of the University Student Week at the University of Hadhramout.
In the chess championship, Mohammed Saeed Bin Kadda from Seiyun University secured first place, followed by Ali Mohammed Bashraheel from the University of Hadhramout in second place, and Mohammed Awad Bin Jameel from the University of Hadhramout in third place.
In the girls’ category, the University of Hadhramout dominated the top three positions: Shaima Khaled Al-Rubaiki took first place, followed by Shifa Riyadh Baashan in second place, and Nawara Saleh Al-Attas in third place.
In the boys’ table tennis championship, Ali Mohammed Afif from the University of Hadhramout won first place, with Abdulqader Hassan Barjaa from Seiyun University in second place, and Omar Yasser Bahamdan from the University of Science and Technology in third place.
In the girls’ category, Samar Khaled Bin Buraik from the University of Hadhramout secured first place, followed by Qamar Hassan Al-Bakri in second place, and Aida Khaled Al-Rubaiki from Al-Arab University in third place.
The finals were attended by Professor Mohammed Saeed Khanbash, President of the University of Hadhramout, Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obthani, Vice President for Student Affairs, Captain Hassan Masjedi, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the Hadhramout Coast, Mr. Zaki Ahmed Baqwiqu, General Director of Activities, and Mr. Naif Salem Bawzeer Chairman of the Sports Committee.
