The Institute of Languages at Hadhramout University is set to hold a recognition ceremony in the middle of next week to honor the first cohort of recipients of the University President’s Scholarship for the study of Chinese language fundamentals. The ceremony will take place following the completion of the training program organized by the institute and coincides with the conclusion of the celebrations marking the 70th Anniversary of Yemeni-Chinese Relations, reflecting the university’s growing commitment to promoting global languages and international engagement.

Dr. Salem Bin Nashi, Dean of the Institute of Languages, stated that the course was designed for students interested in acquiring fundamental Chinese language skills. He added that the recognition ceremony will be held under the patronage of Professor Mohammed Khanbash, President of Hadhramout University, and will be attended by the institute’s leadership and the course instructor, Ms. Arwa Barhoum, in appreciation of the participants’ commitment and successful completion of the training program.

The course commenced on 2 September and was delivered over 20 training hours, with the participation of 15 male and female trainees. The initiative represents an important step toward strengthening linguistic and cultural exchange and expanding educational opportunities related to the Chinese language at Hadhramout University.
