 Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers Program

 Hadharamout University with Partnership with Nahd Developmental Foundation, Hadhramout University Language Centre (HULC) is pleased to announce free scholarships for international students to join the program ‘Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers’ for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Learning and teaching Arabic language to non-native speakers of Arabic in a distinct educational environment by specialized and highly academically competent staff members via offering academic and training programs within the framework of the well-established Hadhrami culture and human values.

Goals

  1. Familiarizing with the basic linguistic and literary expertise in the field of Arabic language and literature specialization.
  2. Identifying the specialization’s main terminologies.
  3. Understanding the basic principles and theories of the field of Arabic language and literature specialization.
  4. Analyzing various types of Arabic texts.
  5. Linking the cognitive content with the Arabic and Islamic culture.
  6. Developing cognitive and communicative competencies in the Arabic language and literature specialization.
  7. Enabling learners in applying the basic principles and theories where necessary in the fields of their occupations.
  8. Comprehending literacies’ outlines in the Arabic language and literature specialization and their impact on what is related to it.

Anticipated Outcomes

  1. Recognizing Arabic sounds with regards to reading, pronouncing, writing and speaking.
  2. Determining important words and vocabulary which facilitate communication in various situations.
  3. Possessing the ability to use the Arabic language within the Arab community and interacting with its individuals as well as understanding their culture.
  4. Using Arabic language syntactic patterns appropriately.
  5. Ability to recite the Holy Quran and contemplate its verses.
  6. Possessing basic knowledge of the Arab community and culture.

Scholarship Details

Admission Procedures
  • Applications will be reviewed according to the specified criteria.
  • Preliminary acceptance announcements will be made between April and May 2025, with an invitation to complete registration procedures.
Admission Requirements and Assessment Criteria
  • Applicants must have obtained high school diploma.
  • The high school certificate must be dated within the last 5 years.
Scholarship Details
  • Type of Scholarship: Covers tuition fees and university accommodation.
  • Target Group: Open to all nationalities.
  • Academic Programs: Arabic Language for Non- Native Speakers
  • Program Credit Hours: 560
  • Initial Registration:
  • Starts on the 16th of January 2025 and ends on the 28th of February 2025.
