A Scientific Sooperation Between Hadhramaut University & Al-Baath University

Prof. Mohammad Saeed Khanbesh, HU President, via a special virtual meeting on the zoom platform, attended by Prof. Abdulla Saleh Babair, HU Vice-President of Academic Affairs , Prof. Hadi Salem Al-Saban, HU Vice-President of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Dr. Lotfi bin Dahman, General Director of International Cooperation, met with Prof. Abdulbaset al-Khatib, President of Al-Baath University in Syria,  and Prof.  Ma'an Salama, Vice-President of the University for Scientific Affairs, and Prof.  Nasser Saad Al-Din, Vice-President of the University for Higher Studies and Scientific Research.

in the meeting president of Al-Baath Uninersity gave a brief of the University:

Al- Baath University belongs to the central region of Syria between the cities of Homs and Hama. It was founded in 1979 and has 20 faculties, namely, Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Petroleum and Information Engineering, a High Institute of Languages, Complex of Human Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the Humanities. It absorbed 87000 students in general admission and over 30000 students in open education.

He added,"  We look forward to cooperate with HU  in the fields of scientific research, scientific journals, arbitration for research, exchange of experience, supervision of scientific projects, utilization  and its extensive relations with a number of other universities" .

On his part, Prof. Mohammad Saeed Khanbash, HU President, presented an explanation of HU. It establish  in April 1993 , and that it included 15 colleges, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, College of Engineering and Petroleum, (including civil, architectural, chemical and petroleum engineering departments), College of Nursing, College of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology, College of Computers and Information Technology, College of Law, College of Open Education, College of Education in Mukalla, College of Arts, and Women's College , in addition to the two colleges of Education in Al-Mahra Governorate and Socotra Archipelago.

He added that Hadhramaut University looks forward to activating the agreement that was signed between the two universities on the 17th of August,2003 in order to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and scientific cooperation in the fields of research and journals, exchange scientific visits, arbitration of research, supervising scientific messages and promoting scholarships between the two universities.

The two sides agreed to continue communication between the leaderships of the two universities regarding activating the agreement in the field of joint research, conferences, symposiums and workshops, as well as joint supervision of master's and doctoral theses, as well as conducting joint research projects in the field of renewable energy research and nanotechnology research.

It was also agreed to hold a scientific conference for postgraduate students between the two universities
