Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash, President of Hadhramaut University, described the 6th International Scientific Forum as being held in his first electronic version, organized by Sultan Zine El Abidine University in Malaysia, the Iraqi University in Iraq and the platform (ARID), from 18 to 21 April, 2020 , in these exceptional circumstances. It will establish a new regulatory mechanism that will expand the area of interaction for academic and research institutions, and will encourage the participation of many academics and researchers in these institutions. Thus, the role of the platform (ARID) in stimulating scientific research, introducing researchers to present their research products, and sharing experiences that enhance communication mechanism to increase knowledge production and its intrinsic value by cross-fertilization of research ideas, coordination of efforts among research institutions, and optimal utilization of available potential is important. At the opening ceremony of the forum, which began at 9 a.m. on Saturday, 18 April 2020, Mr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, President of the University of Hadhramaut (the guest of honor of the Forum) addressed participants through direct communication technology: “We have the right at Hadhramaut University to be proud of our partnership with the platform (I want); The University of Hadramaut is a government university located in the south-east of the Republic of Yemen, founded in April 1993, and consists of 15 medical, engineering, educational, administrative and humanitarian colleges, as well as science, literature, the environment, marine life, law, girls, computers and information technology. The University’s colleges include sixty-two B.S. programs and forty-six graduate programs (M.S. and Ph.D.). The University has established five research centers in the fields of environmental studies, water, human and social sciences, honey bee, palms and dates, as well as the Women’s Center for Studies and Research. These centers are the University’s community window, working to study and resolve the problems facing society through the design and implementation of research programs. The University of Hadhramaut organizes annually three scientific conferences in applied science, social and human sciences and a student research conference, awards are being allocated for winning research in the first centers, and a joint international scientific conference with the Malaysian University of Brilis is being prepared in December 2020 with the permission of God Almighty. The University produces three well-established scientific journals in the humanities, applied sciences and medical sciences. Under the strategic plan and the internal quality system of the University, represented by the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, the University organizes dozens of scientific events from workshops, vocational training courses for faculty members, assistants and employees, in addition to various quality activities. In the student affairs sector and to create the integrated personality of the graduate, the University has established eight clubs and scientific forums, during which university students are engaged in their creative activities, as well as competitive scientific, cultural and creative activities, which are awarded prizes to the eminent. He added in his speech: The University of Hadhramaut seeks to create effective scientific and research partnerships with academic and research institutions. The University has concluded more than 60 cooperation agreements with a number of Arab, Asian and European universities, and these partnerships contribute to promoting inter research across regional and international research groups to deepen scientific research and increase cognitive production. Mr. Mohamed Saeed Khenbash concluded his speech by saying: Before closing, I should like to thank Sultan Zine El Abidine University of Malaysia, the Iraqi University and the (I want) platform for organizing this international scientific forum at this difficult time, and to invite us to participate as a guest of honor and extend special thanks to his Excellency Dr. Saif Al Suwaidi, General Supervisor of the forum.
