They discussed joint collaboration between the two universities in academic and research field and the joint effort to strengthening cooperation between Hadhramaut University and global universities, including Xiamen University. For his part, Prof. Abdallah Saleh Babair, HU Vice-President f for Academic Affairs, noted that this visit to a delegation from Xiamen University was the beginning of joint cooperation between the two universities and the preparation for the signing of a joint memorandum of understanding during the coming period.
Noting that HU is one of the state universities in Yemen, comprising 15 colleges in Mukalla, Socotra and Al-Mahra cities, with 17000 students in all majors and colleges, as well as 53 postgraduate and two doctoral programmes, he stressed that HU has signed about 62 joint cooperation agreements with various universities in Asia, Africa and Europe, including Malaysian universities, which include exchange of professors and training of students.
The meeting was attended by: Prof. Hadi Salem Al-Sabban, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Lutfi bin Dahman, Director General of the International Cooperation Department at the university, Eng. Waseem Rabihan, Executive Director of the Student Welfare Association, and Engineer Abdul Qawi Bagbir, Director of Programs and Projects, and Prof. Mohammed bin Makhashin, Public Relations Officer of the Charitable Student Welfare Society, accompanying Mr. Tony on his visit to Hadhramout University.
