In the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training Prof. Khaled Ahmed Al-Wasabi, and the governor of governorate, the commander of the second military region, Major-General Faraj Salmeen Al-Bahsani, Hadhramout University inaugurated the activities of the first international conference on engineering and technology(IcoEngTech), collaboration with UniMAP, via videoconference under the slogan (highlighting the fourth industrial revolution through innovation and excellence towards a smart life), and the first conference of basic, applied and technical sciences(ICoFAST), under the slogan (creativity in science and technology towards a future end Evolution) at Bakther Hall- University Presidency.
In the opening session of the two conferences, which began with verses from the Holy Quran, His Excellency, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training conveyed the greetings of the Prime Minister, Prof. Muin Abdul-Malik Saeed, confirming that the ministry pays great attention to scientific research in Yemeni universities, and holding periodic meetings for the development of University education in Yemen. Also, he said that these scientific research conferences contribute in solving the community problems, inviting the other public and private Yemeni Universities to hold such international conferences that would raise the researchers’ abilities and exchange scientific and academic experiences between Yemen and the world Universities. In addition, he confirms that HU was a role model among other Yemeni universities while it organized international, research and scientific conferences under these difficult circumstances of our country. He express his thanks and appreciation to HU presidency and its all affiliates for organizing these international scientific conferences with world universities. Pro. Mohammed Saeed Khunbash, HU president indicated from his side that these two joint conferences between HU and UniMAP draws a beautiful painting, which embodies the depth of the brotherly relations between Hadhramout and Malaysia. In addition, they were a translation of the partnership agreement that occurs between the two universities during the past period within the two universities keenness to benefit from their potential and to exchange experiences. He mentioned that researchers from 15 countries in the world participates in addition to Yemen. Moreover, he said that approximately 141 scientific researches will be discussed in these conferences, 34 research for faculty members of HU, inviting all the researchers in both universities to participate in the next scientific conferences in June, 2021. He indicates that this event represent a research and scientific phenomena in Yemen, drawing attention that Hadhramout university will organize two international conferences in partnership with Malaysia Pahang university within the activation of international relations. In addition, he said that the university has multi partnerships with world universities reached more than 70 agreement in addition to achieving many accomplishments such as, evaluating studying programs in university’s faculties, establishing training workshops and courses for the faculty members and the students and developing 36 programs of master’s course and 4 programs of PhD’s course, thanking the prime minister, Pro. Muaeen Abdulmlik Saeed for his sponsorship of these conferences and Minister of Higher Education, Technical Education and vocational training, Pro. Khalid Alwasabi and Hadhramout Governor for his continuous support to the university, hoping that these conferences work will continue to succeed.
Pro. Badlisha Ahmed UniMAP president indicates in his speech via video conference that both conferences aim to bring together researchers and professionals from the academic, industrial and public sectors in the context of multi and inter-disciplinary forum and discussions on Engineering and Technology. This conference will provide an excellent opportunity of knowledge sharing and research ideas exchange in the abovementioned disciplines for a better quality of life to meet future challenges. This conference is open to all researchers, postgraduates and post-doctoral students from all over the world confirming that these conferences contribute in community service and are a joint work between the UniMAP and HU in Yemen, thanking the organizers of these two conferences.
