Hadhramout University participated in the virtual academic symposium held by the General Secretariat of the Arab Universities Union on Wednesday morning 16/06/2021, at Al Ain University – United Arab Emirates via the visual communication technology (ZOOM). It was titled “Arab university students.. Hand in hand towards a promising future.”
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Ibtihal Mahmoud Abu Rizq; Vice President of Al Ain University for Development and Follow-up Affairs, Assistant General Secretary of the Association at the University, Director of the Symposium, welcomed the participants from Arab universities. She also introduced the Association for Student Affairs in Arab Universities, which seeks to enhance accessing the technology in centers and councils, where it is considered the real aspect through which the activities of the students emerge.
Prof. Ghalib Awad Al-Refai, President of Al Ain University, United Arab Emirates, General Secretary of the Association, stated the association’s institutional work, as it raises the level of Arab university students towards better professional and technological performance. This keeps it abreast with advanced international universities and contributes in the labor market efficiently and with high ability. Moreover provides them with modern information and technological mechanisms.
The meeting discussed the importance of paying attention to student activities and extracurricular activities and their impact on raising the efficiency and expertise of students. In addition, adopting programs that serve students and provide them with knowledge to raise their scientific achievements in the field of their specializations.
At the end of the meeting, some suggestions were presented by the attendees and discussed by the organizers of the symposium and the representative of Hadhramout University, Prof. Salem Mohammed bin Salman; Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs who thanked the leadership of Al Ain University for coordinating this symposium, reviewing many of the activities and events organized by Hadhramout University. He expressed the readiness of Hadhramout University to contribute to the success of all the activities and events that the association will organize in the future. It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by 82 representatives of Arab universities.
The meeting was concluded by Prof. Ibtihal Mahmoud Abu Rizq who thanked everyone and hoped that the association will contribute to raising the efficiency of Arab university students for more excellence and success and keep abreast with international universities. Accordingly, the Arab countries will be among the world’s advanced countries in university education.
