The Minister of Higher Education is grateful to HU for hosting international scientific conferences

Prof. Khalid Ahmed Al-Wasabi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training, said that the Hadhramaut University had become an example for scientific research. The launch of international scientific conferences within the framework of the HU Scientific Research Week was a milestone in the development of the University at the local and international levels.

And the opening of the International Conference on Advanced Technology and Engineering, in which researchers from 35 countries participated, he noted that HU was making great and remarkable strides through such partnerships and scientific achievements.

In turn, Prof. Abdullah Saleh Babair, Vice-president for Academic Affairs, said in on behalf of Prof. Mohammad Saeed Khabbesh, the president," we are starting a special week. (Hadhramout University Scientific Research Week), which includes six international scientific conferences and the Sixth Scientific Research Conference HU Students. Today we are launching this week's events by embracing its International Conference on Advanced Technology and Engineering. (ICOTEN 2021) Organized by the University in partnership with the Research Group of Yemeni Scientists and technically sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers of Yemen IEEE) over two days in collaboration with eight international universities. "The Conference was the largest scientific event of its kind in Yemen, with six international conferences specializing in recent developments in the fields of smart computing and informatics, electrical and electronic engineering, bioengineering and medicine, environmental engineering, applied science and teaching and management techniques", he added.

 

ICATE had received 195 papers from local and international researchers from States: Algeria, Australia, Bahrain, China, China, Jordan, Jordan, Denmark, Iraq, Somalia, Morocco, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Britain, India, America, Indonesia, New Zealand, Italy, Pakistan, Brunei (Dar es Salaam) Bangladesh, France, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Oman, Palestine, Romania, Rwanda, Tunisia, as well as researchers from Yemeni universities have been added to the conference book and will be included in (IEexplore – SCOPUSINDEXED) to find their way into different scientific research platforms and groups locally, regionally and internationally to guide their content in the production of studies, research and other working papers, contributing to the enrichment of scientific and cognitive production, the service of human beings and the environment, and the creation of solutions to various problems.

For his part, Dr. Faisal Said, the Conference chairman,  said that Since the inception of the Group of Yemeni Researchers, HU has had the privilege of initiating and cooperating in the organization of international scientific conferences since 2014. This conference, which is being held at HU via videoconference, is one of the most important scientific events to be considered in various fields of engineering and applied sciences.

For his part, Dr. Adel Mohammad Bahamid, the Ambassador of Yemen to Malaysia,  said at the opening session of the Conference that supporting Yemeni researchers and strengthening their scientific capabilities is an important task that we should all carry out in tribute to the outstanding services of HU in supporting scientific research and in participating with its counterparts from the world's universities in organizing such events.

During the Conference duration, a number of meetings take place in six parallel rooms simultaneously.

The inaugural session was attended by: Eng. Amin Saeed Barzeq, Hadhramout Governorate Vice-Dean for Technical Affairs, Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obthany, Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Hadi Salem Al-Sabban, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Abdullah Aida Bahshwan, Director of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, and Mr. Abdullah Alawi Aidid, University General Secretary, and a number of college deans and researchers at HU.
