Conclusion of a Training Program in Mukalla on the Importance of Early Detection of Breast Cancer

The training and awareness program on the importance of early detection of breast cancer for women was concluded on Monday in Mukalla, with the participation of “28” trainees from Medicine and Health Sciences Faculty at Students’ dormitory, Hadhramout University. It was organized by the Women’s National Committee in Hadhramout, and the Hadhramout Foundation for Cancer Control (Amal). Under the patronage of the Governor of Hadhramout, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, and the coordination of Hadhramout University. It lasted from 24 to 31 October 2022.

At the closing ceremony, which was attended by about “200” female students in the college complex at Hadhramout University, the head of the Women’s National Committee, Ms. Faiza Bamatrif indicated that this program included several activities during the month of October, starting with Quran memorization centers, security centers and faculties. Educational campaigns were also implemented through awareness lectures and training courses for female students, which were attended by about 100 students at the Student dormitory – Hadhramout University, to shed light on the program’s logo, which reflects the importance of the safety and life of women in society. She thanked the Governor of Hadhramout, the Hadhramout Foundation for Cancer Control (Amal), Student Affairs at Hadhramout University, and the deans of the faculties in the college complex; for their interaction with the program, and their efforts. From his part, the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Salem bin Salman, spoke about the importance of these awareness campaigns and initiatives in increasing community education. It also included a lecture by Dr. Somaya Al-Tamimi on the importance of early detection of breast cancer and ways to prevent it. The activities of the closing ceremony were attended by the Dean of the Women’s faculty at Hadhramout University, Dr. Najat Bu Sabaa, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Muhammad Barshaid.
