Hadhramout University Participates in the Fourth Session of the Florilege Culturel in Morocco

Prof. Hadi Salem Al-Sabban; Acting Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, considered the scientific and artistic participation as a new and advanced step for the university’s staff. The artist Khalid Bin break presented more than 20 paintings, in this fourth session, organized by the Association Ribat Al-Fath for Sustainable Development, at the National Library in Rabat.

It was attended by a large number of artists and academics, representatives of the diplomatic corps of embassies in Morocco, and members of the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Rabat.

The exposition included a number of distinguished paintings that were admired by the artist Khalid Bin Break, that highlights the extent of the ancient civilizational of Morocco through the unique diversity of architectural construction, ancient walls, and gates, and the second is to highlight the extent of the magnificence and aesthetic value of Moroccan decoration, which was reflected in his work, and was represented in the gates, the zellij in the walls of mosques, and the old water dispensers, in addition to the decoration with plaster and the traditional dress of women that was called caftan, as well as Moroccan carpets. He expressed his happiness to participate in the exposition, because its holding coincides with important national occasions in Morocco, the 47th  anniversary of the Green March and Independence, in addition to the activities of Ribat; the capital of African culture 2022, and the capital of culture in the Islamic world.

He Pointed out that it is a return of the favor that there is a Yemeni participation that expresses the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation between Yemen and Morocco, appreciating the efforts made by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, and the Association Ribat Al-Fath, for their support to the creative people. Moreover, he thanked them for providing him with this opportunity in this important participation, which means a lot to him in his artistic career.

It is noteworthy that Khalid Bin Break is currently continuing his doctoral studies in Morocco at University of Mohammed V in Morocco, from which he obtained in 2020 a master’s degree “comparing the aesthetics of mud in southern Morocco and Hadhramout”, and also obtained a Bachelor in Fine Art, from the University of Hodeida, and he is a professor at Hadhramout University. In addition, he is a talent coach at the Academy of Talented, an expert in interior design, and a cartoonist.

Furthermore, he has participated in many expositions in Morocco, most notably the “Our Heritage is Our Wealth” festival exhibition at Dar Al-Shabab Al-Nour in 2022. In the same year, he participated in the exposition “Moroccan Culture with a Yemeni Artist” at Al-Nakour Youth House in Al-Hoceima province, and in 2018 he participated in the ICESCO exhibition entitled “Yemen with an Art vision”.
