Prof. Muhammad Saeed Khanbash; Hadhramout University President launched in Ali Bakatheer Hall at the University Presidency the activities of the 8th scientific conference which was held under the slogan” University students at the service of development ”. It was held within the activities of the 30th anniversary of Hadhramout University foundation and it lasts for 4 days.
During the opening session, HU President congratulated the university students on the university anniversary and its achievements at national, regional, international level. It worth mentioned that the university became distinguished in many aspects such as; Academic development, quality, scientific research and students aspect. Due to the activities of the 12th students week, the 8th scientific conference of the university students was held and more than 312 male and female students represented 10 faculties competing for ten awards. Moreover, he indicated that many activities will be held during this students week such as; the organization of the largest scientific exhibition in the history of the University, during which they will send a message that Hadhramout University is an extension of Hadhramout history, an identity for its present and a hope for its future.
The university pays great attention to students’ diverse athletic talents. At the 12th University Student Week, it developed a comprehensive and diverse sports program at the University faculties level. As well as at the level of other Yemeni universities, noting that Hadhramout University with its second strategic plan, and continuing its approach seeks to develop the personality of the graduates. It also develops various programs and activities that enable its graduates to compete for opportunities in the labor market.
Dr. Khalid Awadh Al-Rubaki; Chairman of the Scientific Conference Committee for University Students, noted that this year the conference coincides with the celebrations of the University’s thirtieth anniversary, with the University Student Week, and indicated that the Scientific Conference of Hadhramout University Students continues for the eighth consecutive time to highlight students’ research in various fields that serve and develop society. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the University Presidency for their efforts in continuing to hold this Scientific Conference, as well as the committees, members of the Conference, and all those who contributed to the success of its scientific events.
The conference discussed a number of points in the field of natural and applied sciences, humanities and social sciences for graduation research of HU students.
The launch was attended by Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obthani; Vice President for Students Affairs, Prof. Hadi Salem Al-Sabban; Acting Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Abdullah Eidha Baheshwan; Director of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, Mr. Abdullah Alawi Aideed; Secretary-General of the University, Prof. Salem Muhammad Bin Salman; Assistant Vice President for Students Affairs, Deans of faculties and their Deputies, Heads of Scientific Departments, a number of staff members, and HU students.
