Prof. Muhammad Saeed Khanbash; President of Hadhramout University agreed on the membership of the university in the Union of Mediterranean Universities ( UNIMED) in March 2023. This was occurred during the celebration of the university’s thirtieth anniversary.
He added in his speech on the decision of the General Assembly of the Union to approve the membership of the university at its last meeting in Spain, that this represents a great honor for the university, and an international recognition of its position in international forums. As Hadhramout University had obtained membership in the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED), after this annual meeting that was held at University of Granada in Spain from March 15-16, 2023.
It is worth mentioning that the Union of Mediterranean Universities was established in 1991, and includes more than 150 universities from 24 countries, including Italy, France, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, and a group of Arab and African countries. It is noteworthy that the Union works to link universities in the Mediterranean region, and is based on finding the necessary support for joint projects between them, whether academic or research, and receives support from a group of countries and programs, including the Erasmus programs of the European Union Commission. Thus, Hadhramout University becomes an official member of the General Assembly of the Union, represented by His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Muhammad Saeed Khanbash, in the upcoming elections and meetings of the Union
