Hadhramout and Airlangga Universities Towards a Scientific Partnership in Various Fields

Prof. Abdullah Saleh Babair; Vice President for Academic Affairs inaugurated the introductory meeting with the Indonesian University of Airlangga, to discuss aspects of joint cooperation between the two universities and the concerned faculties within the framework of the joint cooperation agreement between the two sides.

At the outset of the meeting, the Vice President of the University welcomed the Indonesian delegation represented by the Deputy Deans of the  Medicine college, the College of Advanced Technology and Multidisciplinary, the College of Science and Technology, and many specialists in the Global Partnership at Indonesian University.

He explained that Hadhramout University has many applied and humanities faculties, which include 55 scientific departments, and a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. In addition, the university seeks to develop the available programs and open new programs to serve the community.

From his part, Dr. Sulistiawati; Deputy Dean of the College of Medicine, welcomed the Vice President of the University and his accompanies, expressing the university’s readiness to work jointly in areas of common relevance, in a way that enhances the role of the two universities, and reflects positively on the staff members and students.

After that, the meeting began with a discussion by the deputy deans of both universities, and many important points of common interest were raised, including training, qualification, joint scientific supervision of master’s theses, the distance education experience for some curricula. In addition to the academic accreditation, student exchange, and visiting professor program, in addition to the participation of Airlangga University in the Second International Conference on Basic and Applied Sciences and Technology, which will be held by Hadhramout University in early October, and other academic topics. The attendees agreed to continue the work of the joint committees by holding meetings between the specialists of the concerned faculties and submitting recommendations successively to the leadership of the two universities.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Saleh Awadh Bahul;  Academic Deputy at the faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Salmeen Al-Shamali;  Academic Deputy at the faculty of Engineering and Petroleum, Prof. Muhammad Hadi Al-Douh; Academic Deputy at the faculty of Science, and Dr. Ahmed Eidha bin Ali Al-Hajj;  Academic Deputy at the faculty of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology. In addition to Dr. Lutfi Saeed bin Dahman; General Director of the International Cooperation at the University and Dr. Samir Al-Buri; a member in the International Cooperation Committee and the University’s representative in Malaysia.
