Hadhramout University organized the first annual forum for university graduates in Ali Ahmed Bakatheer Hall as part of its 30th-anniversary celebration under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, the President of Hadhramout University.
During the opening session of the forum which began with verses from the Holy Quran, Prof. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash welcomed the attendees at the inauguration ceremony of the Alumni Club and the first annual forum for university graduates at Hadhramout University. He announced the establishment of the long-awaited club due to the difficult circumstances that the country and the university are going through, highlighting the great achievements of Hadhramout University, which distinguished it from other Yemeni universities. He pointed out that the university provides suitable conditions for the educational process, improves the quality of education and scientific research, and raises the university’s national, regional, and international rankings. He emphasized that the university has ranked first in scientific research and third nationally in the Arab Universities Union for 2023.
The university continues to pay continuous attention to creating the integrated personality of its graduates through organizing and sponsoring various student activities to refine their talents and creativity. It is worth mentioning that the university annually organizes activities for quality, scientific research, community service, and students, as well as establishing scientific and research cooperation with more than eighty universities in several countries. In addition, the university followed the strategic planning approach and launched its second strategic plan at the beginning of 2023. It was prepared by academic and administrative leaders in the university presidency and its faculties.
The President of Hadhramout University concluded his speech by expressing his gratitude, especially to the Hadhramout Foundation for Human Development and its Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Engineer Abdullah Ahmed Buqshan, for their funding and participation, as well as to everyone who contributed to the success of this event.
After that, dialogue sessions were held with several local and international graduates of Hadhramout University, moderated by the presenter, Ayman Bahmaid. They presented a brief overview of their academic journey during their university studies and afterward and their progression in employment opportunities and projects.
In the closing session, the new administrative body of the HU Alumni Club was announced. It will work under the supervision of the Student Affairs Deputyship at the university during the upcoming period.
The forum was attended by Prof. Abdullah Saleh Babair, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obathani, Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, Mr. Abdullah Alawi Eidid, the Secretary-General of the University, Prof. Salem Mohammed bin Salman, Assistant Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, deans and their deputies, staff members and their assistants, and Hadhramout University students.
