The workshop organized by the American organization “Health Security Partners” on ” Biorisk Management Awareness Training at Yemeni Universities” was concluded yesterday, Thursday, in collaboration with Hadhramout University as one of the target universities of the project, which aims to introduce the biosafety and biosecurity curriculum within the curricula of specializations related to dealing with biological materials.
The workshop was conducted by trainers accredited by the organization in the field of biological risk management, both in person and through video conferencing, Dr. Munir Al-Sayyadi from Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia, Dr. Saleh Al-Batatai from Hadhramout University, Dr. Abeer Ismail, and Dr. Mohammed Mansour from the University of Ibb. The workshop targeted 29 students from Hadhramout University, from the specializations of biology and medical laboratories in the Faculties of Science, Medicine, and Health Sciences, respectively, and was implemented over the two days of Wednesday and Thursday, May 1 and 2, 2024, in HU training halls.
After the workshop, the participants were honored by Prof. Salem Faraj Bamasoud, Acting Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Salem Mohammed Bin Salman, the Assistant Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, and Dr. Salem Bin Nashi, the Director of the University Language Center.
