The activities of the 2nd International Conference on Fundamental, Applied Sciences and Technology were held at the Hall of the Writer Ali Ahmed Bakathir in the HU Presidency, organized by Hadhramout University in cooperation with international and global universities, under the slogan (Creativity in Science and Technology – Towards a Highly Developed Future). The conference will continue for two days, including more than 120 scientific research papers.
In the opening session of the conference, which began with verses from the Holy Quran, Hadhramout Governor Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Maadhi conveyed to the attendees the greetings of His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, and his best wishes for the success of the conference, saying: “We in the local authority feel proud and honored to organize such international conferences by Hadhramout University that contribute to serving society and researchers.” He pointed out that the conference represents great importance for developing scientific research methods, exchanging experiences with international universities around the world, activating scientific publishing agreements, confirming the support of the local authority in the governorate and its interest in such events that constitute an opportunity to increase the knowledge of researchers, as well as benefit from the experiences that will serve Hadhramout through the participation of more than 22 countries around the world; This is reflected in strengthening and consolidating relations between Hadhramout and the countries of the world. In addition, he thanked the HU Presidency and everyone who contributed to organizing the conference activities.
From his part, the President of Hadhramout University, Prof. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, indicated that preparations for this conference had been underway for more than a year, and many questions and inquiries were received that included the objectives of the second international conference. He mentioned that the university – in partnership with several universities classified among the top thousand universities in the world according to QS data during the past five years – has held eleven international conferences, in addition to two national conferences, however, this second international conference on fundamental, applied sciences and technology is the most prominent in the history of Hadhramout University. He confirmed that the number of universities participating in the conference is more than seventy universities from twenty-two countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia, and America, and the number of research papers submitted to the conference amounted to one hundred and eighty-seven, of which one hundred and twenty-four were accepted, and the number of research papers submitted by staff members and their assistants from the colleges of Hadhramout University amounted to more than ninety research papers, announcing the establishment of the first fund in Hadhramout University to support international conferences classified within the Scopus database. He wished for Hadhramout University to remain shining in the sky of science, knowledge, scientific research, and community service, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the conference sponsor, the Governor of Hadhramout Governorate, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Maadhi, and the supporting partners from the Malaysian Energy Universities, Syiah Kuala Indonesia, and the University of Al- Mahra in Yemen, and all the institutions and companies that support the conference.
From his part, Dr. Suhail Musada, Vice President of Al-Mahra University, conveyed the greetings of Dr. Anwar Kalshat, President of the University, to the attendees. He pointed out that the university is honored to participate in this international scientific event at Hadhramout University, and Al-Mahra University has presented several scientific research papers, as well as some referees from the staff members within the framework of the integrated partnership between Hadhramout and Al- Mahra universities, wishing them success.”
Two speeches were also delivered via Zoom, each by the President of the Malaysian Energy University (Tenaga), Professor Khairul Sahari, and Professor Marwan, President of the Indonesian University Syiah Kuala. They expressed their great happiness to hold this second international conference on fundamental, applied sciences and technology in partnership with Hadhramout University in Yemen. It occurred within the framework of the cooperation and the activation of the partnership protocol between these universities. They expressed their thanks and appreciation to the HU Presidency for organizing the conference, wishing them success.
The international conference aims to support Hadhramout University’s strategy in developing the scientific research system to raise its local, regional, and international classification and to provide an opportunity for researchers from Hadhramout University to exchange experiences and expertise with their counterparts in the world in natural, applied and technological sciences; To ensure that the capabilities of university affiliates are increased in research and innovation, to document and strengthen bridges of research and scientific cooperation between Hadhramout University and international universities, to activate the agreements related to sound scientific publishing within the Scopus database in terms of quantity and quality.
After the opening session, the conference sponsor, the Governor of Hadhramout Governorate, Mr. Mubkhout Mubarak bin Madi, and the supporting institutions, companies, and businessmen were honored and presented with shields.
The opening session of the conference was attended by Prof. Abdullah Saleh Babair, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obathani, Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, Prof. Salem Faraj Bamsaud, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Mr. Abdullah Alawi Eideed, General Secretary of the University, Dr. Mohammed Al-Dhouh, Deputy Head of the Conference Preparatory Committee, several college deans and their deputies, several general directors of the executive offices in the governorate, delegates of supporting institutions, bodies and civil society organizations in Hadhramout.
