Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Approves HU Pharmacy Program

Prof. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, President of Hadhramout University, expressed his immense pride in the approval of the Bachelor’s degree program in Pharmacy, issued by Hadhramout University, by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by the Agency for Public Diplomacy Affairs and the General Directorate of Cultural Diplomacy.

The university president described this achievement as remarkable, elevating the status of the university’s graduates and giving them significant importance. He congratulated the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, especially the Pharmacy Department, on this occasion.

In a letter dated 11/1/1446 AH, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the Yemeni Embassy in Riyadh that the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties had approved the classification of Hadhramout University’s Pharmacy program as a “Pharmacist.” Practitioners can apply for professional classification through the commission’s electronic system (Mumaris Plus), attaching all necessary requirements, in accordance with the general regulations for professional classification and registration and its executive regulations.

The Yemeni Embassy in Riyadh had previously sent a memorandum (24/2/0001274) dated 14/5/2024, which included a letter from the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research expressing his desire to request the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties to include the HU Bachelor’s degree in the commission’s list of recognized qualifications.

This approval comes amid an increasing demand for this specialty, which has become one of the most important health specialties.
