On Wednesday, a special pavilion dedicated to Hadhrami books was inaugurated at Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) in Brunei Darussalam, as a distinguished cultural initiative by Hadhramout University.
The event was held under the patronage and in the presence of Hadhramout University President, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, and the President of UNISSA, Dato Seri Dr. Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal. This initiative falls within the framework of the academic cooperation agreement signed between the two universities, aiming to promote Hadhrami intellectual and scientific contributions that reflect the deep historical and cultural heritage of Hadhramout.
The pavilion showcases a rich collection of references and books across various disciplines, including Hadhrami history, Islamic thought, the humanities, Arabic language, and recent academic publications from the faculties and research centers of Hadhramout University.
UNISSA’s leadership expressed their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Hadhramout University for this initiative, affirming that it represents a knowledge bridge that opens broad horizons for academic collaboration and exchange of expertise between the two institutions. Both parties emphasized that knowledge remains the most effective means of strengthening bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between nations.
The Hadhrami Books Pavilion is expected to serve as a dynamic academic resource for UNISSA students and researchers, enriching the university’s library and deepening scholarly ties between the two universities.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several university officials, including Mr. Abdullah Aideed, Secretary-General of Hadhramout University, and Dr. Arman bin Asmad, Vice President of UNISSA.
