Later the same day, the delegation’s activities shifted toward fostering partnerships with Asian universities. The Yemeni university presidents held a fruitful meeting with a high-level delegation from the National Taiwan University of Technology, headed by Professor Chang.

The meeting concluded with the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding between the participating Yemeni universities and the National Taiwan University of Technology, each separately.

The agreements provide for enhanced cooperation in several areas, including the exchange of faculty members and researchers, implementation of short-term student cultural exchange programs, initiation of joint postgraduate programs, organization of academic and training initiatives, and support for scientific research and technological innovation projects.

Dr. Chang Yong Zhong, Director of International Cooperation at the National Taiwan University of Technology, affirmed his university’s commitment to ensuring the success of these partnerships in ways that achieve mutual benefit and advance education and scientific research.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Ahmadi, Cultural Attaché at the Yemeni Embassy in China, also confirmed the Embassy’s full support for these partnerships and the readiness of the Cultural Mission to facilitate their implementation.

These activities come within the framework of the official visit of the Yemeni academic delegation, which began with productive meetings at Shanghai International Studies University, and continued with an intensive program at Fudan University on September 22, 2025. In a speech delivered on behalf of the Yemeni university presidents, Dr. Khanbash emphasized that this visit represents “a practical translation of the deep and renewed historical relations,” underscoring the shift toward “effective cooperation and partnerships” in vital sectors such as engineering, medicine, and the environment, as well as the development of academic programs and technology transfer in the field of artificial intelligence.

These agreements constitute a strategic step within the broader orientation of Yemeni universities toward building a network of international academic relations that enhances their scientific standing, with the Cultural Mission committed to following up on the implementation of these partnerships.
