Prof. Abdullah Saleh Babair, Hadhramout University Vice President for Academic Affairs, met with the delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), headed by Engineer Abdulkarim Al-Sabri, Director of the FAO Office in Hadhramout, at the university’s presidency headquarters.
The meeting focused on aspects of mutual cooperation, particularly the preparations and arrangements for the celebration of World Food and Water Day, which is observed annually on October 26. The event is organized in partnership with Hadhramout University and will include a variety of activities, such as an agricultural products exhibition and other related initiatives.
During the meeting, Prof. Abdullah Babair welcomed the FAO delegation, emphasizing the university’s strong relationship with the organization. He affirmed that Hadhramout University will serve as a host for the World Food and Water Day events sponsored by FAO, expressing the university’s readiness to provide all necessary support to ensure the success of the celebration. He also highlighted the university’s willingness to contribute to research related to agricultural development in Mukalla through its Center for Environmental Studies and Water Resources, in service of the local community.
