Tomorrow, Thursday, Hadhramout University will inaugurate its first-ever Hackathon on campus under the direct supervision of the University President, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash. The event will begin with the opening of the Entrepreneurship Center and an exhibition showcasing students’ creative and innovative projects.
The activities will also include workshops and lectures, most notably a lecture on artificial intelligence and a workshop on investment opportunities in the governorate.
The newly established center aims to support entrepreneurial projects and creative ideas from university students by providing incubation, technical and economic consultations, and assisting young entrepreneurs in securing the necessary funding to transform their ideas into small and pioneering businesses. This will be achieved through the establishment of branches of financing institutions within the center.
Additionally, the center seeks to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce to simplify procedures, reduce licensing costs for entrepreneurs, and foster an environment conducive to innovation and investment in Hadhramout. It also aims to ensure that researchers obtain the necessary licenses and available facilities in collaboration with the relevant authorities in the governorate.
