Hadhramout University announces the launch of the “Academic Development Week” from December 21 to 25, 2025, as part of its continuous efforts to enhance its educational and research system and reaffirm its pioneering role as a catalyst for prosperity and a hub for knowledge creation. The event is held under the generous patronage of the Governor of Hadhramout, Mr. Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, and the President of Hadhramout University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash.
Prof. Dr. Abdullah Ayedhah Bahashwan, Director of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center at the University, stated:
“This week, which brings together university leadership, faculty members, supporting entities, and local partners, aims to create a qualitative shift in the academic environment. It will focus on discussing and developing a set of key policies and guidelines that form the foundation for ensuring the quality of educational outcomes and aligning them with labor market needs and global standards.”
The objectives of the week revolve around several main pillars, including legislative and academic development through intensive workshops to update essential academic regulations such as the Examination Regulations, Field Training Regulations, Professional Master’s Program Regulations, and Graduation Project Evaluation Regulations.
Bahashwan added:
“We seek to enhance quality and international ranking by organizing a specialized lecture titled ‘Universities as Engines of Prosperity and International Excellence,’ along with a workshop dedicated to analyzing the University’s position in global rankings and developing improvement plans.”
In addition, the week will focus on developing guiding manuals, including the preparation and launch of unified and approved guides such as the Graduate Attributes and Learning Outcomes Guide, the Guide for Measuring Learning Outcomes, the Academic and Psychological Advising Guide, and the Job Description Guide.
The week will also feature a grand opening ceremony attended by the University Council, local authorities, supporting entities, and students, marking the official start of the activities and the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Academic Development Center—reflecting the University’s openness to its community.
On this occasion, the University President, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, affirmed that “Academic Development Week” represents a strategic platform for constructive dialogue and the formulation of executive plans that translate the University’s vision of transitioning toward third- and fourth-generation universities capable of producing and marketing knowledge and contributing effectively to community development.
