The President of Hadhramout University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Khenbish, along with the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Salem Bamasoud, and the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Science and Marine Biology, Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Rubaki, inaugurated a number of development projects, including the new Microbiology Laboratory, the Faculty building rehabilitation project, and the solar energy project at the Faculty.
The University President and his accompanying delegation listened to a detailed explanation of the laboratory’s functions and the services it will provide to postgraduate students as well as the community, including public and private institutions, companies, and individuals.
The delegation also inspected the fish farm project funded by the FAO, reviewing the progress of work and the completion rate, which has reached approximately 80%.
During the visit, the Faculty building and its academic departments were inaugurated after being rehabilitated over the past period in a manner that reflects the identity of the Faculty and the University.
The visit also included the inauguration of the solar energy project at the Faculty, with a total capacity of 24 kilowatts and an estimated cost of 17 million Yemeni riyals. It is the first energy project at the Faculty level within the University, implemented by Viva First Company for Trading and Electrical Contracting, and funded through self-efforts by the Faculty’s administration with the support of the University Presidency.
On this occasion, Dr. Khenbish expressed his delight at the development witnessed in the Faculty’s infrastructure as part of the University’s plan to enhance the educational and academic environment. He affirmed his readiness to provide all necessary support to contribute to serving students and the community.
He was accompanied during the visit by a number of University leaders, Deans of various Faculties and centers, Vice Deans of the Faculty, Heads of academic departments, teaching staff and their assistants, the Faculty Secretary, department directors, and students.
