Under the patronage of the President of Hadhramout University,
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, the Women’s Faculty, organized this morning a creative event titled “Because You Are a Cloud of Goodness” in the college garden, celebrating the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.
Dean of the Women’s College, Prof. Dr. Najat Abu Sab’a, inaugurated the event by expressing her appreciation for the students’ efforts, noting that such activities help refine their skills for post‑graduation endeavors. She explained that the event featured an art exhibition showcasing Ramadan‑themed paintings, as well as participation from productive families to strengthen the link between the University and the community. She added that the College hosted graduates of the Art Education Department from the deaf and mute community, who presented the output of their private workshop in support of transitioning their projects from the digital realm into real‑world practice. The event also included a charity food table promoting the values of social solidarity. The Dean further announced the College’s plan to honor the best activity through a distinguished award determined via online voting on social media platforms.
She added: “The event witnessed a remarkable presence from the University’s Model Kindergarten, where children participated wearing the traditional Ramadan attire of Mukalla City and offered dates and coffee accompanied by Ramadan chants.”
For her part, Dr. Lamyaa Bin Sunna, Head of the Social Work Department, stated that this event is the first of its kind in the 2025–2026 academic year, celebrating the advent of the holy month. She highlighted the wide participation of all College departments through product‑selling booths, with proceeds allocated to charitable activities and student support. She praised the tremendous public turnout, which added exceptional joy to the conclusion of the week.
In the same vein, Dr. Zubn Aziz Al‑Asafi, Head of the Islamic Studies Department, affirmed that this annual event is an integral part of the academic experience and serves as a renewed opportunity for departments to present students’ creative work and develop their skills in a positive environment.
Meanwhile, Dr. Moataz Abdul‑Mu‘tamad Mohammed Ali, faculty member in the Social Work Department, concluded by highlighting the success of the department in embodying its humanitarian mission through acts of assistance and compassion, with active participation from students across all four academic levels who contributed significantly to the success of this distinguished event.
The event radiated an atmosphere of joy and Ramadan spirituality among attendees, who praised the high level of organization and the diversity of activities that combined artistic creativity with a meaningful humanitarian message. Once again, the Women’s Faculty at Hadhramout University affirmed its pioneering role in instilling noble values and empowering students to channel their talents in the service of the community and the nation.
It is noteworthy that this event, held in the college garden, forms part of the ongoing efforts to activate extracurricular activities that integrate academic work with professional and humanitarian engagement.
