Hadhramout – University Media

As part of Hadhramout University’s vision to prepare creative, well-rounded students capable of contributing effectively to community development, the University remains committed to activating and supporting student activities of all forms, recognizing them as an essential component and foundational pillar of its educational and pedagogical system.

Prof. Dr. Salem Al‑Obathani, Vice President of Hadhramout University, affirmed that this commitment reflects the University’s ongoing approach to fostering creativity and providing opportunities for its mission to engage with real needs. He noted that preparations for the University Student Week are being carried out with great care to ensure a vibrant and rich edition this year. The event will feature a wide range of intellectual and artistic activities and will continue through the Eid al‑Fitr holiday, God willing.

He added that the aim is to provide an optimal platform through which students can showcase their talents and creative abilities, and freely and responsibly express their perspectives.

The Vice President for Student Affairs highlighted that the 11th Scientific Conference for Students of Hadhramout University stands at the forefront of these activities, emphasizing the leadership’s commitment to organizing it annually as part of the University’s mission. He explained that the conference is not merely a routine event but rather a genuine investment in young minds and a step toward creating an inspiring academic environment that showcases students’ efforts in scientific research—particularly graduation projects—and applied innovations.

Dr. Al‑Obathani further noted that the conference serves as a window through which students’ intellectual and applied outputs are presented to the broader community, with the aim of promoting them and utilizing their outcomes in support of comprehensive development in the governorate.

He expressed hope that the outcomes of this academic movement will go beyond display and organization, leading to greater achievements such as obtaining patents in various fields. Dr. Salem voiced his confidence that the students’ innovations are capable of elevating the University’s reputation and contributing to improving its global ranking.

He concluded by pledging full commitment to ensuring the continued annual organization of this conference and other related events, expressing his hope that future editions will witness increased student participation and enhanced quality of contributions—strengthening students’ roles as genuine partners in knowledge-building and distinguished ambassadors of their University and their nation.
