كلمة رئيس الجامعة في حفل تدشين أسبوع الطالب الجامعي الخامس عشر فبراير 2026م 1

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the Seal of the Prophets, our master Muhammad, and upon his family and all his companions.

Dear Vice Presidents of the University, the Secretary-General, and their assistants,
Dear University Presidents,
Dear Deans of the Faculties, Directors of Centers and their deputies, and Heads of Academic Departments,
Dear Directors of the institutions supporting the University,
Honorable guests,
Colleagues, members of the teaching staff, and their assistants,
University staff,
My dear students,
All distinguished attendees:

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

I welcome you all to the inauguration ceremony of the fifteenth University Student Week — a week that has become an annual tradition organized by Hadhramout University, serving as a hub for various student activities and a platform for discovering their talents, creativity, and distinction. It unleashes their innovative and creative energies, for university students are the very group for whom universities exist: to provide knowledge, support, and preparation — academically, skillfully, and creatively — to become the builders of the tomorrow that nations aspire to, the leaders of its future, and the painters of its creative image.

This week transforms the corridors of our university into a beehive of movement, activity, excellence, and creativity. It coincides with the opening of the 11th Scientific Conference for Student Research.

This week includes a number of activities that have become an innovative hallmark of Hadhramout University, distinguishing it from other Yemeni universities. Among the most notable events are:

  1. The Scientific Conference for University Students, in its eleventh edition, is an exclusive conference organized by Hadhramout University this year.
  2. The University Awards for Scientific and Cultural Creativity, in their tenth edition,
in addition to sports competitions, various lectures, workshops, and discussion panels.

At the University Presidency, we firmly believe that the student is not a “vessel” for information, but rather a “spark” of potential. Therefore, this harmony between sports and cultural activities on the one hand, and scientific research on the other, is not coincidental — it is an embodiment of our vision of building a “well-rounded personality.” The student who excels in classrooms and laboratories is the same student who shines in cultural and sports competitions and elevates their creativity through these activities.

What distinguishes the University Student Week at Hadhramout University can be summarized in the following points:

First: Its consistent annual organization.
Second: Participation of other universities in several events throughout the week.
Third: Annual renewal of activities — the events are not fixed but change from year to year, with new creative activities introduced each cycle.
Fourth: Wide student participation.
Fifth: The significant contribution of faculty members and their assistants in making the week successful by supervising activities and serving on various judging committees.

Honorable guests,

Allow me to take this distinguished gathering as an opportunity to convey two messages:

First message — to our emerging student researchers participating in the eleventh scientific conference:

Your research presented in this conference is the first step on a thousand-mile journey toward innovation. Do not view them merely as graduation requirements, but as cornerstone contributions to the advancement of your nation. Knowledge is not confined to books; it is a tool for solving real-life problems. We are here to support your curious minds.

Second message — to the participants in the fifteenth University Student Week:

To all creatives in cultural fields, athletes, and all participants in this week:
The university is the broadest space for discovering your potential. Compete with honor, unleash your ambitions, expand your horizons of creativity, and make this week a canvas that reflects the vitality of our youth and their ability to organize and lead.

Honorable attendees,

Before concluding, I extend my deepest thanks, appreciation, and gratitude to:

– The leadership of the local authority in Hadhramout Governorate, represented by Mr. Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadhramout.
– The institutions supporting the week’s activities.
– All those who have contributed — and continue to contribute — to the success of the week, including:
• The Student Affairs Deanship
• Heads and members of the preparatory committees
• Faculty members and their assistants participating in judging committees, and supervisors of students’ research in the Tenth Scientific Conference
• Students participating in the week’s events and activities
• The “silent heroes” whose efforts made this ceremony and its activities possible — especially the University’s Investment and Facilities Administrations.

And finally, we extend our sincere thanks to all of you, honorable attendees.

May Allah grant success to everyone in all that is good.
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
