The Sakhaa (Generosity) Volunteer Team at the Faculty of Nursing, affiliated with the Student Volunteer Club at Hadhramout University, launched the first edition of the initiative “A Hand Extended… A Smile Planted” on Sunday, the 12th of Ramadan, at Hadhramout University Hospital, under the patronage of the Faculty of Nursing.

The initiative went beyond providing meals and distributing gifts; it represented a genuine expression of compassion and humanitarian solidarity. Members of the volunteer team moved through the hospital corridors carrying messages of warmth and hope. Their activities included distributing iftar meals to fasting patients and their attendants, as well as dinner meals to hospital staff and inpatients.

The team also brought joy to hospitalized children by distributing toys and small gifts, which brought bright smiles to their faces and created a warm and uplifting atmosphere within the hospital environment.

This initiative highlights the spirit of solidarity that connects members of the hospital community and reflects the positive image of volunteer work, an endeavor that goes beyond duty to become a meaningful humanitarian mission.

The organizers affirmed that such initiatives have been implemented previously and expressed their hope that the program will continue and expand in the coming years, believing that even the simplest acts of giving can have a profound impact on people’s lives.

At the conclusion of the initiative, the Sakhaa Volunteer Team extended its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this humanitarian effort, an initiative that reinforces the values of solidarity and nurtures the spirit of giving among students before reaching its beneficiaries.

This initiative embodied the values of compassion and social solidarity during the blessed month of Ramadan.
