a meeting was held at Yemen Arabian Sea ports Corporation to discuss the idea of establishing a marine sciences department at Environmental sciences &Marine Biology college.
Eng. Salim Ali Basmir, Chief Executive Officer of the Yemen Arab Sea Ports Corporation, welcomed the idea as a major opportunity for Hadhramaut and other governorates of Yemen. He stressed that there was a shortage of naval cadres in Hadhramaut governorate, in particular, and Yemen in general, despite the fact that Yemen was a maritime State and port State in great need of naval academic cadres to contribute to its development. He added ,” the Foundation will contribute to the creation of the Section in accordance with its capabilities, demanding deliberate and consistent steps .”
Dr. Salem Bazar added that Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, Smart Village Campus and Moscow Transport Academy had shown their full willingness to sign cooperation notes to participate in the graduation of students from the Department of Maritime Studies(Marine Biology , Marine Engineering and others).
The meeting was attended by Mr. Fouad Taiseer Al-Rabaki, Executive Vice-President of the Foundation, Captain Teslam Mubarak Bouamru, General Director of the General Authority for Maritime Affairs/Mukalla, Dr. Ahmed Eyida Ben Ali Al-Haji, Lecturer at Environmental sciences & Marine Biology college , and specialized maritime cadres at the Port Corporation and Maritime.
