Marine Biology Department Students Visits The Lobster Seafood and Marine Life Export CO.LTD.

Students of the Marine Biology Department and several staff members and their assistants visited The Lobster Seafood and Marine Life Export Company on Thursday, November 2, 2023. They got acquainted with the stages of the production process for fish production and packaging. Mr. Salem Sahl bin Ishaq, the CEO of the Company, received the delegation. He explained the company’s community partnership and its readiness to support the educational process at the university through practical application. He also expressed the company’s willingness to participate in any workshops or scientific symposiums involving scientific institutions and production sectors in decision-making to preserve and optimize fish resources. Mr. Salem bin Ishaq then accompanied the delegation from the Marine Biology department on a tour of the production line, where they were briefed by the Quality Control Supervisor, Mr. Raed Azoun, on the components of the production line, the production capacity of each unit, and the quality control measures. They also learned about the economically valuable fish species that were exported and the various preparation methods.

The students were accompanied by Dr. Jafar bin Omar Baamar, the head of the Marine Biology department, Dr. Ahmed Ali Belkadi, Dr. Salah bin Fareejan, and Mr. Mustafa Baredi. These activities are part of the plans and programs of the Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology Faculty to provide students with knowledge and experience and to bridge the gap between the scientific,practical aspects and the labor market.
