Hadhramout University and FAO Discuss Preparations for the 2025 World Food and Water Day Celebration

At the Office of the Presidency of Hadhramout University, and with active participation from the Center for Environmental Studies and Water Resources (the key partner for development), an important meeting was held on Monday, September 22, 2025, between university leadership and a delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), headed by Eng. Abdulkarim Al-Sabri, Director of the FAO Office in Hadhramout.

During the meeting—which was attended by the university’s vice presidents, the Director of the Center for Environmental Studies, and the Director General of the Agriculture Office in Coastal Hadhramout—discussions focused on joint cooperation and advanced preparations for the upcoming World Food and Water Day, scheduled for October 26.

Prof. Abdullah Baabair, Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized the depth of the partnership with FAO and affirmed the university’s full readiness to host the event and provide all necessary support to ensure its success. He also highlighted the pivotal role of the Center for Environmental Studies and Water Resources in conducting research related to agriculture and water, which positively contributes to community service.

The event, building on the success of its previous edition in 2023, will feature an exhibition of agricultural products, youth-led and research-based projects, family enterprises, innovations, and a variety of educational and scientific activities.
