Under the generous patronage of H.E. Major General Salem Abdullah Al-Suqtri, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries, and Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak Bin Madi, Hadhramout Governor, Ali Ahmed Ba Kathir Hall at Hadhramout University of hosted the World Food Day celebration, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in coordination with the Center for Environmental Studies and Water Resources at the University.

This marks the second consecutive year of the event, following the success of the 2023 celebration. It reflects the ongoing success of the partnership between the Center and FAO as an active academic and organizational collaborator, highlighting the University’s vital role in addressing community issues and promoting sustainable development.
In his opening remarks, Hadhramout Governor welcomed attendees and praised the Hadhramout University for its active international engagement in supporting the agricultural sector, expressing gratitude to FAO for its efforts.

For his part, Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash, University President, emphasized the significant role of the Center for Environmental Studies and Water Resources, expressing pride in the outstanding work of its team under the leadership of Prof. Khalid Saleh Bawahidi. He commended the strategic partnership with FAO, noting that this successful event is one of its key outcomes.

Following the speeches, the Governor, the University President, and Eng. Abdulkarim Al-Sabri, Director of FAO’s Hadhramout Office, inaugurated the accompanying exhibition, which featured a variety of agricultural and food products. The exhibition aimed to promote a shared vision of supporting local farmers and enhancing food security.
