Environmental Studies and Water Resources Center Enriches Awareness Lecture Series with a Talk on Water Conflicts in Hadhramout Vice Presidency for Student Affairs – Hadhramout University

As part of the cultural and awareness lecture program for the academic year 2025–2026, and under the generous patronage of Professor Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, Hadhramout University President, the Ba Wazir Hall at the Faculty Complex in Fuwah hosted a distinguished lecture on Sunday, November 2, 2025, titled “Water Conflicts in Hadhramout: Causes and Solutions.”

The lecture was delivered by Prof.Dr. Khalid Bawahidi, Director of the Environmental Studies and Water Resources Center, who explored the roots and dimensions of water conflict issues in the governorate. He reviewed the most pressing water-related challenges and problems, offering scientific insights, practical approaches, and strategic solutions to overcome these challenges.

The event was organized by the General Directorate of Student Activities at the Vice Presidency for Student Affairs. Attendees included Mr. Zaki Baquwaigo, Director General of Activities at the University; Dr. Abdulbaset Al-Gharabi, Chair of the University Student Creativity Awards Committee; Dr. Majid Muslim, Vice Dean of Environmental Sciences Faculty and Marine Biology for Student Affairs; and Dr. Salah Bin Farejan, Head of the Research Department at the Center. The lecture also witnessed a large turnout of students from the Faculties of Administrative Sciences, Arts, and Environmental Sciences.

At the end of the lecture, the floor was opened for questions and comments from the audience, which were met with appreciation and enthusiasm. Students enriched the session with their thoughtful inquiries and constructive observations.
