When signing of agreements is characterized by good visions and bright hopes for the end of agreements, results shall be good and blessed.
This came as a result of agreements concluded by the university leadership with a number of universities in the world such as Tunisia, Russia, Indonesia and others.The result of these agreements are scientific conferences, research partnerships and contact between HU and concerned universities. It is a scientific movement whose features began appearing on the surface. Clarifying these, we hold this meeting with Dr. Salim Ba-masoud, Director General of the Scientific Research at the university.
* What is the importance of having a general administration for scientific research at the deputyship of higher studies and scientific research?
** Scientific research is no longer a luxury. It has become the first and most important step in carrying out plans and making decisions. It has also become the backbone of development and progress. We are no exception at Hadhramaut University. Therefore, it was necessary to establish this department to be as the most important window to evaluate the extent of the development of research studies in various sciences and disciplines.
Q: How are the preparations for holding the scientific conference on engineering and technology in cooperation with the Malaysian Perlis University ?
**Currently, the Conference Secretary and the Conference Technical Committee receive researches until the end of January. The university leadership is keen to deal with these researches and organizes their process of judging through applying specialized, advanced and international programs, run by capable cadres at the university, and this is a source of pride to us . With regard to equipment, the university leadership has overcome all difficulties related to preparations of the conference halls to ensure the success of the conference.
* To what extent do researchers interact with the conference at HU, and what about the researches summited to the conference?
** In despite of the stagnation in research activity in our Arab region in general and Yemen in particular, HU researchers were full of determination and ambition. About forty researches were received, and we have no doubt that the number will be increased because HU provides its affiliates participating in both the conferences with material and immaterial incentives .
How does the committee supervising the reception of research deals, the extent of the requirements to be met, and the rate of research acceptance?.
** All channels of communication are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Conference Secretary and the Technical committee receive researchers’ inquiries and provide them with all requirements for submitting their researches in phases.
With regard to the conditions for receiving researches, they are in line with the generally accepted standards of reputable journals and international conferences, such as: the necessity of completing the pillars of research , the rate of evidence in the research, as well as the language of research. The Leadership of the University trusted the translation unit at the Faculty of Art with this task. Here, we extend our thanks to this distinguished unit, which we hope that it will be a basis for languages and translation.
* When will the conference be held?
** The conference will be held in the middle of next March, specifically on the fifteenth and sixteenth of it.
* What does the university gain advantages of holding such scientific conferences?
** There are several advantages, including: spreading a culture of scientific research among researchers and postgraduate students, providing real opportunities to HU researchers to highlight their research creativity, facilitating contact with their research peers in the world, keeping pace with developments in their fields, contributing to improve the word and legal rankings of HU and developing the university’s structure related to preparations for holding conferences and seminars with a professional cadre of its affiliates.
