The Political Forum of HU students organized a symposium in the volunteer forum hall about “the political and legal rights of women” on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, under the auspices of Pro. Dr. Mohammed Seeed Khanbash, President of Hadramout University in the partnership with the volunteer forum.
In the symposium, Dr. Salah Medishal, Head of the Political Science in HU, indicated to the importance of raising awareness among women about their political rights, reviewing some articles in the Yemeni constitution related to women rights as well as their political role and its impact on the community.
For her part, Ms Ahed AL-Kasadi, a legal consultant, presented the legal rights of women and wives, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness among women about their rights in the law.
After that the discussion was opened about the political and legal rights of women.
It is worth mentioning that this symposium is the first one held by The Political Form for March 2020
This symposium was attended by :Ms Aswan Bin Khuwilid , Head of the Women’s sector for the General People’s Congress and Ms Madinah Adlan, Head of the socialist youth Union and Dr. Omer Bawazeer, Executive Director of the Hadramout Institution for Legal development, also attended by a number of youth and interested women.
