In the sessions of the Fifth Scientific Conference of HU students, there was a diversity of researches, a diversity of ideas, and a diversity of contents, came as a result of participating various faculties.
On the first day, eight research papers were presented in the field of humanities and social sciences, arts and education. These researches are: the measure and balance in the light of the Holy Qur’an, a study in rhetorical figures for some verses of the Holy Qur’an, the legal rights of wife in the light of Islamic Sharia provisions.
Other researches related to our community life were also presented, such as: the quality of life among Hadhrami families forcibly returned from the foreign countries to Hadhramout Coast, the role of female kindergarten teachers in developing the environmental awareness for kindergarten children from the point of view of female teachers in the city of Mukalla, the awareness level of female kindergarten teachers in Mukalla city about the importance life skills from their point of view, a comparison between the English and Hadrami versions of Cinderella story, the effect of a proposed program on the consecutive translation to develop translation skills among the fourth-level students of English language at the Faculties of Girls, the issue of betrayal and repentance in Khaled Hosseini’s novel (The Kite Runner – Psychological Analysis), and a research on the problems caused by kidney failure and the impact of social services in facing them.
the second day was designated for the natural and applied sciences field, the medicine and health sciences group presenting several research papers in two successive sessions:
The level of adequacy of male and female nurses in intensive care unit to deal with the ventilator in Mukalla hospitals, and the satisfaction of people about nursing care provided in Ibn Sina Hospital in Mukalla, evaluation of the preventive antibiotic administration for patients attending surgical departments, the awareness level of pregnant women about folic acid and its uses, and the prevalence of elevated liver enzymes for diabetes patients, the social and health situation of patients with end-stage kidney failure in the dialysis centers in Hadhramout 2019 , the seroprevalence of hepatitis B and C among hemodialysis patients in Mukalla, assessment of the level of bacteria in public swimming pools in Mukalla, a study to assess the level of community awareness of the environmental and health risks of Plastic bags in Al-Shiher, the environmental pollution in some areas of Hadhramout Coast and Desert, development of canned sardine products, the isolation of lactic acid bacteria from milk produced locally, and the study of microalgae in Khor-Al Mukalla.
On Tuesday, March 3, Engineering Group will discuss researches, namely: an alarm system to detect an epileptic seizure in bed, the design of Tarim Cultural Center, the design of a public library in Mukalla, the smart nursery, the HU application, the application of (your service) to issue the identity card electronically, a material balance equation for condensate gas reservoirs and modeling of the tests of pressure, volume and temperature through using the equation of state in northern Kamal oil field.
In the group of administrative sciences: the liquidity crisis in the Central Bank of Yemen and its impact on the performance of commercial banks, the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on a price increase of basic commodities (wheat, oil, sugar and rice), the impact of strategic planning in managing the crisis: a field study on the Hadhramout Coast Electricity Corporation, the role of leadership skills in the stages of crisis management: a study in basic education schools in Hadhramout Coast, the effect of using social media in developing the skills of accounting students, and the disclosure of social responsibility in Yemeni industrial establishments.
These researches received a serious discussion, and provided benefits and corrections, and showed the research ability of students, and we hope that the relevant authorities shall adopt them to benefit from them in developing the community.
It is the fifth edition of the scientific conference for HU students , which witnessed a distinguished presence and follow-up by the university leadership, which was keen to attend its sessions and to honor the committees and researchers at the end of each three days of the conference.
