Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash, HU President, expressed his appreciation for the preparation for the convening of the Council of the Association of Arab Universities(AArU) in Jordanian, Amman, and said that” the participation of Hadhramout University(HU) was positive”, and described the level of discussions as serious and fruitful to enhance the role of Arab universities in the future.
The members of the Executive Council of AArU, had agreed to start implementing a project, the first of its kind at the Arab level, to classify Arab universities, with the approval of all members of the Council.
Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama , secretary general of AArU , Said the need has become urgent because of classification of Arab universities, and AArU in cooperation with a number of Arab and international organizations ,the project will lunch soon after the preparation required for the implementation of the project quality and the only one in the region and processing.
On the other hand, Dr. Majid Najm, President of the Executive Council and President of Halwan University in the Arab Republic of Egypt, explained that Arab universities are willing to develop and modernize in parallel with what is happening in the world, and that a competitive climate of transparency and credibility will inevitably stimulate Arab universities to obtain advanced positions in the Arab University Federation classification as the main official and only umbrella of Arab Universities.
In the presence of Dr. Khamisa Hamidi and Dr. Abdul Rahim Hunaiti, Assistant General Secretaries and members of the Executive Board of AArU from the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain and Yemen, discussed the issues raised in the agenda prepared by the General Secretariat of the Federation, which included the discussion of the mechanism for the functioning of membership examination committees for new Arab universities and the approval of the decision of the authority authorized to authorize educational institutions after obtaining all the necessary information and presenting it to public safety for appropriate decisions.
They also discussed the strategic plan prepared by the General Secretariat of the Union, which extends to the year 2030 and the challenges facing its implementation, as well as increasing the number of subscriptions to Arab scientific journals in the Scopus international classification , and urging Arab universities to take advantage of the contract concluded between the Union and Al- Safir Company , which enables the During which the magazine wishing to join receives a discount of up to 80% of the real cost of the subscription. The financial report and the venue of the next session of the 53rd session of the General Conference were also reviewed, and the General Secretariat was authorized to take coordination in this regard. It should be noted that the Executive Council of the Federation is the second supreme body. After the General Conference, which draws up the general policies of the Union, and sets the strategic plans and academic and scientific programs that the Union implements.
