The Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance at Hadhramout University organized 1ST Workshop To Discuss 2ND University Strategic Plan Draft for Academic Years 2022-2030 at the Literary Hall of Ali Ahmed Bakathir, headed by Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbesh, HU President and in the presence of Prof. Abdullah Saleh Babair, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obthani, Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Abdullah Alawi Aideed, Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Ahmed Salem Basreh, Deputy Governor of Hadhramaut for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Eng. Amin Saeed Barzeq, Deputy for Technical Affairs of Hadhramaut Deans of colleges, heads of scientific centers.
HU President made a statement on the University’s successes under these difficult circumstances, noting the academic successes of establishing four new faculties, developing a number of scientific disciplines, completing the curriculum descriptions of applied Faculties, initiating the curriculum descriptions of humanities Faculties , and organizing dozens of courses and training workshops for the faculty.
In his speech, he added that the University’s successes in the field of student affairs were centered on the establishment of three student centers, eight student clubs, three student housing, the hosting of four world student societies, as well as annual creative activities and participation in international competitions.
In the field of postgraduate studies and scientific research, he noted that more than five doctoral programmes and 40 master’s programmes had been developed over the past five years. Over 500 scientific letters had been completed over the past three years.
He concluded by referring to the University’s successes in the infrastructure of a number of buildings, the rehabilitation of a number of classrooms and laboratories in Faculaties, the rehabilitation of the halls of Adeeb Ali Ahmed Bakthar and Prof. Ali Hood Baabad at the University presidency, as well.
On the other hand, Dr. Salim Bawadi reviewed the draft plan and the working mechanism of the workshop. He described the stages of preparation of the plan, its strategic objectives, its importance and its future implications for the work of the University in the next stages.
