The Commencement of the Elimination Rounds for HU Student Creativity Awards

Prof. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, President of Hadhramout University, attended the elimination rounds for the University Student Creativity Awards as part of the 13th Annual University Student Week. He was accompanied by Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obathani, Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Salem Mohammed bin Salman, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, and Mr. Abdullah Muqaydahan, a representative of Al-Awn Foundation for Development.

In a speech by the awards committee, Dr. Saleh Al-Batati, Acting Chairman of the Committee said”Today, we are gathered with a group of Hadhramout University creative students in the fields of memorizing the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, as well as singing, radio broadcasting, and many other fields such as drawing, photography, and others. We are here to celebrate them, their talents, and their creativity and to play our part in highlighting and honoring these talents”

Five students competed in the field of singing from the faculties of Arts, Administrative Sciences, Engineering, Sciences, and the Women’s Faculty. Each of them presented two different sessions.

The judging panel included Dr. Abdul Basit Abdullah Al-Ghrabi, the Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Anwer Abdulaziz, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Ahmadi, members.

Eight students from the Colleges of Administrative Sciences, Arts, Medicine, and Engineering competed in the field of radio broadcasting. Each of them presented a model reading of the news and the literary thought.

The judging panel for the radio broadcasting included Dr. Ahmed Salem Mansour, Head of the Department of Media and Journalism at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, as Chairman, and Dr. Omar Saeed Basraih, Professor of Literature and Criticism, and Mr. Ayman Salem Bahamid, Director of Public Relations and Acting Head of the Television Sector in Hadhramout Governorate, as members.

The activities of the last day of the Student Creativity Competition for this year will continue tomorrow.
