Hadhramout University organized a recognition ceremony to celebrate the university’s inclusion in the QS World University Rankings, securing second place among Yemeni universities, and to honor its success partners. The event was held under the generous patronage of the Governor of Hadhramout, Mabkhout Mubarak Bin Madi .
The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Quran, followed by remarks from Governor Mabkhout Mubarak Bin Madi, who conveyed the greetings of the political leadership to the attendees. On behalf of the local authority in the governorate, he extended congratulations to Hadhramout University for achieving this milestone, noting the importance of optimism and hope amidst the challenging circumstances the country is facing. He stated, “The university would not have reached this success without its administrative and academic staff and affiliates, making Hadhramout a leader despite these challenges.” He urged the university leadership to keep pace with global developments and reaffirmed the local authority’s support for Hadhramout University, which now ranks second in Yemen. He announced the presentation of the governorate’s first honorary shield to the university in recognition of this accomplishment, wishing it continued success and progress .
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, Hadhramout University President, emphasized that the university’s inclusion in the QS World University Rankings and its achievement of second place among Yemeni universities is a significant milestone in its history. He stated that this accomplishment provides the university with a broad vision and limitless ambition, aspiring to become a global university in the future. He reviewed some of the achievements realized in recent years and noted that this success imposes a shared responsibility on the university’s leadership, deans, and affiliates to maintain this achievement and advance steadily in global rankings . Prof. Dr. Khanbash expressed pride in the university’s strategic partnerships with its success partners, adding, “Today, we are gathered for one purpose: to sustain and develop Hadhramout University through your support for its developmental activities and projects. Your involvement reflects your loyalty for Hadhramout and its people. You have affirmed that Hadhramout University is an extension of the region’s history and heritage, representing its present development and the hope of its future.” He extended his gratitude to everyone who contributed to supporting the university’s journey to success .
The ceremony featured a video presentation showcasing the achievements of Hadhramout University, which received wide admiration from the attendees .
At the conclusion of the event, Governor Mabkhout Bin Madi presented the first honorary shield of the governorate to Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, Hadhramout University President. Similarly, the university president presented a shield to the governor. Success partners and contributors to the university’s development journey were also honored with commemorative shields, and a group photo was taken to mark the occasion .
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obthani, Vice President of the University for Student Affairs; Prof .Dr. Salem Faraj Bamsoud, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research; Mr. Abdullah Alawi Aideed, Secretary-General of the University; college deans and their deputies, as well as a number of university affiliates .
