A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Presidency Office of Hadhramout University in Mukalla between Hadhramout University, the local authority of the governorate, and the Youth Without Borders for Development Organization. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, President of Hadhramout University; Eng. Amin Barziq, Deputy Governor of Hadhramout for Technical Affairs; and Mr. Tharwat Mohamed, Youth Centers Coordinator at Youth Without Borders for Development. The agreement pertains to the construction and establishment of a Youth Services Center on the Hadhramout coast, as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships in support of youth programs among the university, the local authority, and the organization through the establishment and operation of the center in the city of Mukalla.
This project is part of a broader initiative funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Yemen to establish youth centers across various governorates, in alignment with the strategic plan of the Youth Sector at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in partnership with Youth Without Borders for Development. Previously, two Youth Services Centers were established in Aden and Taiz. The new center aims to provide a conducive environment for youth to access empowerment, protection, integration, and participation services through a variety of programs and activities.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Saleh Babair, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Dr. Salem Mubarak Al-Obathani, Vice President for Student Affairs; Prof. Dr. Salem Mohamed Bin Salman, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs; and Dr. Ahlam Saleh Bin Buraik, UNFPA Coordinator in Hadhramout.
