The event is being held under the patronage of Mr. Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadhramout, and Prof. Qassem Mohammed Buhaibeh, Minister of Public Health and Population.

The activities are organized by the Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances – Hadhramout Branch, represented by the National Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety Center, in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Hadhramout University.

The official opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, 2 November 2026, in the Red Hall of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Ibn Sina Campus, Fuwah, Hadhramout University.

The event aims to raise public awareness about the importance of reporting adverse drug reactions and to strengthen the pharmacovigilance system through collaboration with the National Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety Center and the Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC), the global center for monitoring medicine safety.

The program forms part of national efforts to enhance patient safety, promote responsible medication use, and improve the monitoring and reporting of drug-related side effects. By encouraging healthcare professionals and the public to report adverse reactions, the initiative seeks to contribute to safer and more effective use of medicines and to strengthen drug safety practices across the healthcare sector.

The event is jointly organized by the Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Hadhramout University, reflecting their shared commitment to advancing public health awareness and safeguarding patient well-being through the promotion of safe medication practices.
