Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, Hadhramout University President, recently met in Riyadh with the Acting Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Yemen.
The meeting focused on the need to activate the outcomes of the historic visit by the delegation of Yemeni university presidents to China and to advance joint academic development initiatives between the two sides.
Both parties discussed the results of the September visit and explored mechanisms to translate its outcomes into tangible programs and cooperative initiatives on the ground.
Dr. Khanbash presented a summary of the outcomes of the meeting held in November between Hadhramout University’s leadership and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum with the China University of Petroleum, emphasizing the broad opportunities available for collaboration in technical fields, research, and academic exchange.
For his part, the Acting Chargé d’Affaires affirmed his commitment to providing the necessary support to strengthen these relations, drawing on the deep-rooted historical ties between the two friendly nations, which span nearly seventy years.
The meeting also addressed several strategic topics aimed at developing and enhancing cooperation between Hadhramout University and Chinese higher education institutions.
This step comes within the framework of both sides’ efforts to strengthen scientific and research collaboration and to open new horizons for academic partnerships that serve technological and economic development in both countries.
