In a vibrant student celebration, Hadhramout University concluded the activities of the Fifteenth University Student Week on Wednesday morning. The event witnessed intense competition and exceptional enthusiasm among the university’s faculties. The award podiums represented more than mere results and rankings; they reflected inspiring success stories shaped by students who demonstrated excellence in both athletic and intellectual pursuits.
During a high-level technical evaluation, Captain Noufel Salem Al-Habshi, President of the Table Tennis Federation and an international referee, commended the championship’s standard, noting that the tournament demonstrated a high level of technical performance. He particularly highlighted Omar Ahmed Mukhrij, a student from the Faculty of Medicine, describing him as an outstanding player with strong international potential. Captain Al-Habshi added that the player is a graduate of one of Egypt’s sports academies and a registered player at Al Ahly Club, urging the University to provide him with special support as a promising talent capable of representing both Hadhramout University and the nation in regional and international competitions.

From the awards podium, first-place winners emphasized that the University Student Week serves as a vital platform for nurturing and showcasing student talents, expressing both gratitude and ambition in their remarks. Khaled Abdulrahman Makarem, from the Computing Faculty and first-place winner in the chess competition, expressed pride in his achievement, noting that the University’s efforts open broad horizons for discovering and refining student talents, and calling for the continuity of such initiatives on an annual basis.

Aisha Nour Al-Din Salem Al-Tamimi, from the Environmental Sciences Faculty and first-place winner in table tennis, expressed her deep appreciation for the support and trust provided by her Faculty, emphasizing the importance of strengthening motivational programs to further highlight student potential.

Excellence was not limited to first-place winners, as other participants achieved advanced positions that reflected a strong spirit of sportsmanship. Omar Khaled Bawazir secured second place in the chess competition and praised its professional organization. Katia Abdulrazzaq Bawazir, from the Law Faculty, achieved second place in table tennis and expressed her gratitude to the University leadership and organizing committee for creating a supportive and stimulating environment. Ali Salah Saleh Bama’ass, also from the Faculty of Law, earned third place in table tennis, commending the University’s role in organizing such high-quality student events.

As the curtain falls on the Fifteenth University Student Week, it leaves behind a generation of creative students who have demonstrated that Hadhramout University is not only a beacon of academic knowledge but also a nurturing environment for talent, leadership, and innovation.
