Deputy Governor of Hadhramout and University President Honor Winners of the Student Creativity Awards at the Conclusion of the Fifteenth University Student Week

The Grand Celebration Hall at Hadhramout University hosted this morning the closing ceremony of the Fifteenth University Student Week, during which the winners of the Tenth Student Creativity Awards were honored. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor of Hadhramout, Mr. Hussein Al-Jilani, and Hadhramout University President, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash.

In his address, Mr. Al-Jilani affirmed that the Local Authority places student and scientific activities at the forefront of its priorities, emphasizing that true investment lies in people and the minds of young individuals. He commended the University’s efforts in supporting students and providing an enabling environment that nurtures their talents and strengthens their sense of national belonging.

For his part, the University President described University Student Week as “a mirror reflecting students’ awareness and a platform that demonstrates that the University is not merely lecture halls, but a true incubator for creativity.” He praised the high level of performance observed during the Eleventh Student Scientific Conference, as well as the strong competitive spirit displayed in the scientific, cultural, and sports competitions.

The award categories included Qur’an memorization, Hadith memorization, short story writing, Arabic poetry, sculpture, painting, Arabic calligraphy, radio presentation, nasheed performance, short films, and theatrical scriptwriting.

On behalf of the supporting entities, Ms. Shurooq Al-Ramadi, Executive Director of the Hadhramout Foundation for Culture, delivered a speech in which she praised students’ creativity in transforming ideas into tangible achievements. She also expressed her appreciation to the University leadership for providing opportunities for meaningful participation.

The ceremony concluded with the honoring of supporting entities and media institutions, followed by the awarding of winners across all competition categories, marking the culmination of an academic year rich in excellence and celebrating students’ creativity across scientific, artistic, and cultural fields.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Salem Mubarak Al-Obathani; the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Babair; the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Salem Mohammed Bin Salman; the University Secretary-General, Mr. Abdullah Eideed; along with a number of faculty deans, general directors, and a large gathering of honored students and their families.
