University of Hadhramout Signs Memorandum of Understanding with SMEpS for Collaboration in Entrepreneurship

Hadhramout University signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with the Small and Micro Enterprise Promotion Service (SMEpS) to collaborate in entrepreneurship. This initiative is part of the Emergency Social Protection Enhancement Project funded by the World Bank, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The signing ceremony occurred at the University of Hadhramout’s headquarters, attended by Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obthani, Vice President for Student Affairs. The MoU was signed by Prof. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, President of  HU, and Ms. Manal Al-Marouni, Project Manager.

The MoU aims to foster cooperation between the two parties, particularly in the field of entrepreneurship, to achieve greater creativity and innovation. It seeks to provide support for young entrepreneurs, ensuring their success and encouraging their small projects, thereby contributing to the national economy. Additionally, the MoU includes implementing several promotional workshops to introduce the Entrepreneurship Project at HU, as part of the Emergency Social Protection Enhancement Project, among other areas of cooperation.

This MoU is part of an integrative partnership between HU, civil society organizations, and supporting entities. It contributes to the support and development of the educational and academic process in scientific and research fields and focuses on entrepreneurship across all university faculties.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Salem Mohammed Bin Salman, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Mr. Abdullah Bin Shehab, President of the Entrepreneurship Club for HU Students, and Mr. Salah Muneebari, Officer at SMEpS for the Emergency Social Protection Enhancement Project in Mukalla.
